Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Junior Research Fellow in a DBT funded research project entitled "Functions on N-6 adenine methylation (m6A) in mRNA plasticity of Plasmodium falciparum at various developmental stages in RBC: Exploring Novel drug target" in the laboratory of Dr. Arumugam Rajavelu at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology , Thiruvananthapuram

 Duration : The project will be active for 3 years, but the initial appointment will be given for 1 year and further extension will be based on the performance.

Pay 25,000 + 20% HRA pm for M.Sc. Degree holders who have qualified at NET/GATE (with valid certificate). Candidates who do not have NET/GATE certification will be eligible for Rs 12,000/- + 20% HRA pm
Educational Qualification

Candidate must have good academic record with first class Master's Degree in Life Science/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry or any other relevant subjects. The candidates in final year MSc (Result awaited category) are also encouraged to apply, however the candidate should be qualified MSc at the time of interview.

Desirable : 

  1. Qualification in National Eligibility test such as CSIR-UGC NET/GATE etc.
  2. The work includes cultivation of malarial parasite under laboratory conditions, therefore prior experience with cell culture work would be recommended.
