About the Project : The Scaling City Institutions for India: Sanitation (SCI-FI: Sanitation) research programme at CPR aims at cross-sectoral and policy-relevant research on urban sanitation. It seeks to understand the reasons for poor sanitation, and to examine how these might be related to technology, service delivery, institutions, governance, finance, and socio-economic dimensions. It also seeks to support national, state and city authorities in developing policies and programmes for intervention with the goal of increasing access to safe and sustainable sanitation in urban areas

Post Name Research Associate, SCI FI, CPR
Educational Qualification
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in community mobilisation, community development models, and social development works.
  • Master’s or PhD degree in Sociology or Gender Studies, Women Studies, Dalit studies, Social Work or Anthropology or Development Studies

Required Skills :

  • Excellent conceptual and analytical skills on issues of gender and social inclusion.
  • Ability to read widely across disciplines and review relevant literature
  • Ability to engage in qualitative and quantitative data collation and analysis
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to document the key process involved in success of interventions
  • Substantial experience in advocacy and policy development / research in the development context.
  • Proven research and practice record
  • Excellent Programme Management skills
