The Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) is an autonomous academic national institution of the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India dedicated to research in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Allied Physics. The Institute has its main campus in Koramangala, Bangalore and CREST Campus at Hosakote, Bangalore. It operates field stations at Kavalur & Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu, Gauribidanur in Karnataka, and Leh/Hanle in Jammu & Kashmir. The Institute has taken up the responsibility of building space-based Visible Emission Line Coronagraph (VELC) on Aditya-L1 mission along with Indian Space Research Organisation.

Educational Qualification

Full time post graduate degree in M.E/M.Tech in Optical Engineering/Astronomy Instrumentation/Optics with a minimum of 60% marks in the aggregate or equivalent grade from a recognised University/ Institution.
Work Experience: (a) Essential: One or more years of experience of working in activities related in the design /build/test/calibration of optical payloads in reputed institutions. 
Desirable: Preference will be given to candidates with experience in space-based astronomy instruments

Age Limit below 32 yrs
